I came to yoga thinking it was mostly stretching and the occasional chant, but what I discovered was far more expansive. The more styles I tried—Ashtanga, Power, Hatha, and Nidra—the more I saw yoga as a choose-your-own-adventure for the body and the brain. One powerful thread that runs through all of yoga is the invitation toslow down.

Whether the format is a gentle flow or a heated power class, yoga shifts the nervous system out of fight-or-flight and into something more healing and intentional. I’m especially drawn to Yoga Sculpt for the strength building and the choreographed flow. Movement and rhythm blur together, creating a shared experience that’s part workout, part moving meditation, part dance party. I also love how yoga travels. It’s a lens for exploring new cities and cultures. I have taken my mat to places where I didn’t speak the language but still felt deeply at home.

I completed my teacher training in Washington, D.C. where I met a crew of friends who, like me, owned full-size skeletons (not for medical use) and we went on to host several Halloween parties together. I currently live in Lakewood with my husband Michael and our two wacky animals. I’m excited to learn from the Feels Good Yoga community. Yoga, much like life, is better with a little humor and a lot of friends.
